With all that has been happening in our lives lately, such as the birth of our second grandson Jack, Mother's Day, Peter's birthday, and the impending end of school, we now need to turn our focus on our two week trip to New England and New York to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Neither Dianne nor I have been to New England except in 1991 when we went to Boston to celebrate our niece Tracy's graduation from Boston College.(For those of you doing the math about Tracy's age, she wants it to be known that she was extremely precocious and entered college while she was still an adolescent and deeply in love with David Cassidy [who?]).
Our whole trip has been planned by Gina's friends from STA Travel days Ryan and Jasmine Folden, and they have done a great job making sure that our needs and wants are met. If ever you need a trip planned, let us know so we can connect you with the dynamic duo of Ryan and Jasmine. They are terrific.
We depart from SFO next Saturday at 6 AM on United for Boston where we will pick up a car from Hertz, spend the night at the Hilton at the airport, and depart the next day for our first stop at the tip of the Cape in Provincetown. We told Jasmine and Ryan that our tastes run toward the seaside towns and villages and that is where will stay while in New England. After two nights in Provincetown, we drive to Woods Hole, also on the Cape, for a three night stay, after which we go to Greenwich, CT for two nights before taking a train to New York City for a five night stay. In New York, we will see shows and visit friends and family. Our last three nights will be away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square which is always bright and busy regardless of the time of day.
We look forward to this trip and seeing a part of the country about which we have both only read. We hope for favorable weather, but know that travelers need to adapt to the conditions, so we will go as prepared as possible. I will try to keep you up to date about our travels and adventures.
